Our Love Story
Our journey began on Hinge. Betty, having recently moved from the South for her OBGYN residency, joined the app looking for a supportive partner to help her navigate this intense new chapter. Meanwhile, Michael, a longtime local, was one swipe away from deleting the app for good—until he saw Betty.
Their first date at an Italian restaurant turned into a crash course in Michigan survival. Michael became Betty’s personal hero, teaching her how to drive on ice and even picking her up from the hospital in the middle of a blizzard.
Many dates and Detroit winters later, they are finally tying the knot. They’re proving that if you can survive a Detroit winter together, you can survive anything.

A lively downtown gathering spot with green lawns, a seasonal ice rink (winter), and frequent live music and events; perfect for grabbing a coffee, people-watching, or relaxing before the ceremony.
